The knowledge imparted in this seminar is required for the work of the works council in accordance with Sec. 37 Para. 6 Works Constitution Act: "General labor law is closely intertwined with works constitution law as the legal basis for the work of the works council. This is particularly evident in the area of personnel co-determination. Therefore, basic knowledge of general labor law is essential for all works council members". (BAG of 16.10.1986 - 6 ABR 14/84). This also applies to substitute members who temporarily replace a works council member who is unable to work (BAG of 15.05.1986 - 6 ABR 64/83).

This seminar is also required for the representative body for severely disabled employees in accordance with § 179 Para. 4 social security code nine, as constructive cooperation of the representative body for severely disabled employees in the works council requires basic knowledge of employment law.
